Solange Knowles released her new album ‘ A Seat At The Table’ on friday. This is the fourth album by Solange Knowles and it took her almost four years to complete. Was it worth the wait? Definitely, if you ask me. The album contains 21 tracks written & produced by Solange, with special guests Lil Wayne, Kelela, Q-Tip, The-Dream, Dev Hynes, and Kelly Rowland.
Not only has she released an amazing album, she has also made two videos with amazing visuals, which she directed herself as well.
Time for some Dutch music! Two weeks ago the video for ‘Club Overleeft Wel’ by Dutch singer/songwriter Linde Schöne was shot in Tilburg. (If you look closely, you can spot me dancing around as an extra with feathers on my head) The videoshoot was so much fun! Check out some of the backstage pics I took at the shoot:
Five years after ‘Channel Orange’ , Frank Ocean released his latest album on Saturday night. He already surprised us last week with a visual album ‘Endless’ and the gorgeous (NSFW) video for the song ‘Nikes’. We’ve been teased with dates, a livestream.. but in the end it was all well worth the wait!
Fans in New York, Chicago, London and Los Angeles were able to get a 360 page magazine called “Boys Don’t Cry” ( the title that was originally given for the album) and a free copy of the album ‘Blonde’. I imagine long lines there! ( were any of you there?)
I’m happy I waited to exchange my three month free trial period for Apple Music, have been playing the album non-stop. Love the whole vibe. What do you think? Check out the album and the video:
While we were all busy crying are eyes out (at least I was, don’t know about you) Beyonce released another visual album, entitled ‘Lemonade’. It really is her best album to date, if you ask me! And the visuals are stunning. I’ve made a playlist filled with tracks that were sampled on ‘Lemonade’. Can you recognize them?
